Day 13 & 14 - Thursday & Friday, September 6 & 7
Believe it or not it took over 24 hours for Customs and Immigration to finally clear us. Until then we were not supposed to leave the boat. However we had to get Internet so Mickey went AWOL to the Vodafone shop to get a SIM card for Xavier’s phone and to grab some hamburgers for lunch. Finally we had Internet by the afternoon. The 24 hour quarantine wasn’t too bad as the winds howled and it rained hard.
Once free to go ashore we immediately headed to the laundromat (you can’t hang out clothes to dry in the rain) and the grocery. Everything closes by 4pm so it was back to Kanoa for the night.
The next morning the poor weather had finally cleared and we all toured the town and took a bus around the island. Here are some photos:

The fun in Rarotonga is over and we have decided to set sail tonight at midnight September 7th for Tonga. This will be a 5.5 day and 5.5 night sail. We plan to arrive just after sunrise on September 13th. Once again our only communication will be via our ZOLEO satellite system and we will not be able to post the next blog until after the 13th. Until then, Stay Well!
